Although the Newbury Diesel Company was a wholly owned subsidiary of FT Everard & Sons, it tended to remain, for the employees anyway, a local company. The reminder of the parentage came every Christmas when the FT Everard Christmas card popped through the letter box of every employee. The cards usually carried a picture of one of the ships and the company flag. There was one historic card designed by the Newbury Diesel Company for local use which had line drawings of most of the prominent staff members including H Kent-Norris. I have yet to discover a copy of either.
