**   'Fred Everard' and 'Alf Everard' were originally two of four steel hulled sailing barges, but on installation of the engines, the masts, leeboards etc were  removed and a fo'castle deck house added to convert them into small motor coasters.
'Will Everard' however, the only one of the four still surviving, remained a sailing barge fitted with auxiliary propulsion engine.
'Ethel Everard' remained a sailing barge without auxiliary diesel power and was abandoned after being towed to Dunkirk with provisions for the troops awaiting rescue during WWll.

#  Denotes engines built by John I Thorneycroft for Everard's.
The two engines built by Thorneycroft for the Red Funnel line's MV Balmoral which was also built by Thorneycroft, were not given NDC serial numbers.

Engine number 874 was actually the last Newbury Sirron installed in an Everard ship. MV Audacity, built at Goole in 1968.
